The next level up is Level 2 or DC charging, which uses direct current (DC) electricity from a dedicated wall outlet or public charging station. This type of charger can charge an EV battery in 4-6 hours, depending on its size and capacity. Finally, there is Level 3 or DC fast charging, which uses very high voltage DC electricity from a dedicated wall outlet or public charging station.
